Welcome to our OFFICIAL WEBSITE! We're Sometimes Why, a rock cover band based in Philadelphia. We're pretty legit now with an actual dotcom, so take a look around and check out our social media pages as well.

This band started in late 2018 and has progressed and evolved into a really fun and fulfilling project for all of us. Between lineup changes, a quarantine, bar closings, and life in general, we've hit some bumps on the road along the way. But we've made the best of it and are better for it, and having a blast doing so. We've all been in multiple bands over the years, but this one is different. Laid back, good times playing our (and your) favorite rock songs from the 1960s through to modern rock has proven to be rather enjoyable. From the days of writing and performing our own music, begging and bribing all your friends to come out Friday night and pay a cover to see you, and inviting out everyone you've ever met through a MySpace event, things change but somehow remain the same. Now we're learning that Pearl Jam song everyone loves, but also the Better Than Ezra one that WE want to play...but we've given up bribing and begging all our friends to come out and see us. And now we use Facebook to invite our entire friends list!

Every band likes to claim they're special like something sets them apart from the other 4,000 cover bands that do a late 90s/early 2000s pop medley and play "Don't Stop Believin'". We're probably no different, even though we're an all-rock cover band. We're not the ONLY all-rock cover band around. But the one thing that we can say without any doubt is: we play what we want. And we do it really well.

Some of us swore we'd never do covers and only do originals forever (do you remember the "Cover Bands Suck" t-shirts?). But here we are, playing Sweet Home Alabama and Pour Some Sugar On Me. But guess what: it's pretty fun. So join us in our shenanigans at a show, drop us a line, follow us on social media, buy us a beer, feed our cat while we go on vacation, something! Anything! Just don't yell out "Freebird" during a set. Or after the show, we will find you...
